The Future, Now

or The Future Now or The Future Is Now; play on phrase, meaning the same and various things… Focusing my mind for a moment, these articles are all in the current webisphere and worth your time -if your interest leans this way It has been really exciting hearing about Mars over the last month (feeling acknowledged) and NASA’s non-news announcement regarding possible life once there because of water, its potential habitability (once again?) Let us invoke some wisdom from our approachable resident futurist, Elon Musk : Elon Musk argues that we must put a million people on Mars if we are to ensure that humanity has a future I am in no way a global warming or climate change propagandist, … Read More

The interwebs is a strange and interesting and kind of succubus of a place (from my perspective) but it is also expansive and phenomenal. It is really the infinite, the new solar system, the modern ‘what we can’t get our minds around’ literally. This is also how much it has to offer you. Reflect. You can utilize it to watch most anything from anywhere in the world or you can waste lots of time clicking on sensationalism. You can take free courses from Harvard or MIT, listen to intelligent debate via TED talks or casually view what someone from some other place, who doesn’t now you or care about you! wore to an awards show. How are you spending your … Read More

‘Oh Hi’ existing blog, sorely neglected because all the thoughts stay lodged in my brain, either over-thought or neglected after a whimsy of interest; verses each tended to, uncovered, investigated…as if *steps* are needed before I can actually just sit down and write it. So many whims and flutters of interest, intrigue, insight. To sit and disclose one thought means I must pontificate on the subject whole-heartedly, as if it needed googling and thorough research. Do we come into any day-to-day conversations needing prior research? As if that is what our cell phones sitting on restaurant dining tables insinuates. And if only this were the case…Oh if people were so intelligent they would have less to say. Let us all … Read More

The pendulum has swung. From the radio to the television to the computer to all the handheld technology, the debate on how much we have become disengaged from each other rose so sharply that it descended just as quickly into the sharing economy.(hinted at in the prior post) The argument is nil, as this picture shows.   We never stopped being present, but more things are being presented to us simultaneously. No one can physically or willingly pay attention to all of it, because we each have distinct taste and only pay attention to what we are interested in. Regardless of the many cell phones sitting on the dining tables interrupting our ‘quality time’ and conversations, we now have more … Read More

Oh Say Can You See?

This morning I was still reflecting on last night’s Creationism vs Evolution debate between Bill Nye &  Ken Ham. It was great, not because i think each gentleman showed their truest colors, but because of the freedom of our culture; opposing view points can co-exist, whether or not they’re copacetic. I don’t believe either person has all the answers for any person. I don’t believe the Bible is literal to a T. I believe both arguments reach dead-ends. I believe there can be a mutual cohabitation of science and religion, and believing in one doesn’t have to negate the other. You can freely not give a damn about what either one says, too. If I met you in person, I’d probably consider you … Read More
