The Random Show II

[Sunday] The first Random Show was in early August. It’s a fine read. A few similarities. I did go back and read it after I formulated this; I needed to see when I had titled another post as such and what numerical value this should be. Since the randomness always runs, how many times have I tried to excuse myself? I’m barely good at boxing myself into this format, something organized and cohesive. Such as why the food-diet-health post is slowly churning along in no cheap, fast fashion way. I want it to be right. I know I can’t avoid offense and hurt feelings or disdain. What we eat is not simply survival-reactionary but personal and emotional, on all the … Read More

The Juggle is Real

I can gladly say I do not participate in the entrepreneur hustle any longer. Where there is often two sides to one coin in most debates, I am firmly in the reliable consistency camp. Not a day goes by in which I regret jumping ship from shakey waters to calm currents. Having said structure eliminates the freedom of creative time too. I say this as an observation. There is still an ephemeral part of myself, the multitaster of life’s buffet. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Per my previous blog post on minimalism: I have already specifically chosen my various directions, interest, tiny projects, reading-writing goals, and family time pockets. My social life = the natural behavior … Read More

Leaves of Grass

Leaves of grass: Individual pieces yet also a part of the bigger picture. Individual politics, yet a part of the same consequence. Individual perspectives, yet sharing the same space and time. I’ve been reflecting on how the quantity of writing I do is not fairly balanced with how much I share, as far as the music goes. I have come to terms with the financial impracticalities of producing all the songs. So, over the last month I’ve been separating the prose into two categories: poems or music. Expressing the poetry is a free outlet, whether in front of a crowd or on my music site. I have added a link on my music site to Poems and will be posting … Read More

On the Docket

Not even halfway through January, thought i’d sound-in on the personal updates before I loose myself down other rabbit hole blogging topics. What I’m Reading Most of my reading comes by referral. I commented on social media recently how my reads would be on the lighter side this year. This in no way implies just fiction or casual investment of time. I just mean I’m not spending a significant amount of time on one history or biography of 300+ pages, taking up nearly 2 months! In this stack there is culture, history, practical applicable information, spiritualism ‘without the woo-woo’ –Tim Ferris, AND a Murakami. ‘I can’t believe I havent read this one!’ Murakami. Coming from a librarian nerd, don’t you … Read More

I’m having a moment. I need to get something off my chest. Yes, I may be taking something personally, but this is my blog and I can do that. And seeing as though I haven’t posted in almost a month, I might as well with enthusiasm. Just a little background: I put out an EP (6 songs) vs an LP (full album) almost a year ago. The same month I did so, I thought to myself “I will not be a starving artist.” and essentially got a full-time (at the time) job, almost the same week. I am not making excuses when i say that I didn’t have the time to hustle the music. I am being honest when I … Read More
