Kitchen Basics, Life Basics

I am standing in my kitchen, leaned against the counter eating a hearty, seasonal winter soup. I see your kitchen light on from across the way. I know you work in the food industry, whether making, serving, or cleaning -it does not matter. We are all susceptible to any environment we are in, literally or subliminally. I wonder what you are making as a meal, as you are not and never dictated by time. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are merely frameworks and concepts of linear-living people. Your clock runs counter to the office employee, the more casual everyday kind of behavior. Your later night lifestyle can be seen as counter-intuitive to human nature, but maybe now, you have the capability … Read More

Questionnaire

Piggy-backing on the previous post covering social media: I thought I’d answer a questionnaire/quiz once apparently something of MySpace (wiki) behavior. MySpace (current site, wtf) what the hell is that now? I was never on it, knew few on it, thought of it as a music sharing community mainly -but let’s be honest: it was the first internet social scene, predominantly based off a visual avatar, too. We are a shallow folk, aren’t we… Ok so, I follow a very prolific, bad-ass woman, UK blogger. We have loads in common. She writes on a few things I especially love, even the tiniest excerpts of her and her mother’s conversations. I shall absolutely do that; it’s actually the next post… BUT … Read More

Follow my blog with Bloglovin November ’15 Review I read this picture with quite a lot of relief, truthfully. Where most people place blame outwardly, I often need reminding it is not necessary nor constructive to internalize everything or beat down myself so much. And the ~so much~ is the root of the problem: Today’s World The link goes to the Lefsetz Letter, a blog by an experienced exec in the music biz., touting ‘first in music analysis’. This one highlights great observations: Scarcity is History or More Information, Greater Ignorance.  He was recommended by Seth Godin, an internet entrepreneur-genius I admire. Bob Lefsetz writes in a one-stream-of-thought style and yes, mainly about the music business, but the post are … Read More

Do you live in New York? It is an extreme environment representing all the world’s characters, every type of doer, shaker, or creator. Everyone either wants to be someone or already is someone. This is mainly due to the fact that the rent is so high. The hustle is non-negotiable. Most consider the expense worth the it. Those with the most discretionary income hustle in other ways, like funneling funds into expensive art at auctions, the new ‘appreciation’. Have you visited New York and stayed in someone’s place, not a hotel? In these more private parts :: where drug smells can permeate the halls-where food smells can seep through the walls-where sounds of lovers fighting or loving can pierce through … Read More

Podcasts ‘Revolution’

BrockaMood RoomLeave a Comment

I haven’t done a link love post in awhile. My current interest are less with blogs and more with conversational info. I read so much really, it would overwhelm the casual soul. So now, podcasts. Oh goodness. Honestly, most people (close to no one) gave a damn about podcasts till Serial by This American Life came out. It is a progressive investigation into an unsolved murder. I found it boring, to be honest. BUT, it was a great catalyst. I started following a podcasts review blog until he became self-involved and grandiose about the whole enterprise, because -he truthfully was at the time- the only person reviewing and writing on the avenue of influence. Related: when I feel like I … Read More
