Strangers in Our Space

If you don’t follow me on twitter or facebook, you don’t know that my condo has been up for sell for just a week. Therefore, strangers with their agents/realtors have been strolling through and viewing. Firstly, a photographer came in to photograph each room before the listing could go up. Typically their time is booked a 1/2 hour out, just so they can stage the place better before shooting. I knew that wouldn’t be necessary, and it wasn’t. I’m not only a minimalist clean-freak, but the 5 second rule applies to my kitchen floors at least once a week. Nothing had to be moved, other than pulling some electronic cords out of walls. Within 36 hours, boom, back-to-back foot-traffic. I’ve … Read More

Productivity and Procrastination

I seem to recall my father once telling me the entire human population has one thing in common: procrastination. Specifically, it is everyone’s worst fault. Most business success comes down to who didn’t procrastinate. No one person has the monopoly on any idea or concept or product. So who makes it happen first? And despite knowing the trials and tribulations or the valleys and hills it takes metaphorically crossing to get to our own ‘success’, we paradoxically view other’s success in broader strokes, as if their path were more linear. Truthfully, we often only learn of someone after they’ve put in the hours, years, tears and time. And frankly that’s how it should be. All that being said: The blogger … Read More

One can argue his popularity has solely grown as a bi-product of  the attention media has given him. The mainstream media (MSM) long ago became info-tainment, … Read More

Instead of the usual social media moniker of flashing back, this is a rounding-up of where my mind has been: After hinting at my work life in the last post, if you are a freelancer this post will read painfully true. The Pay is Not Commiserate With the Work (my own summation of the title) When I had a food-dessert biz, I knew the baseline rate to charge was 3 times the ingredients cost. There are so many variables to consider, only one is time. I have not put any money in savings this entire past year and this fact weighs on me heavily. I’m not getting younger and the world is becoming more divisive and competitive. I am definitely … Read More

It was cold and cloudy mostly. I am not much into taking pictures or congregating with tourist anywhere, anytime. But here are a few. I’ve done various parts of the Smithsonian so I opted to just visit where I could find a parking place. Thus, the African Art museum. The theme was woman and the gift shop happened to find me with my favorite purchases. The majority of the items within The National Archives are stored underground in fireproof vaults. The most important American documents are on display: Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights. No pictures allowed. The biggest part of the tour is a very interactive timeline of history covering the basics: immigration, racism, woman’s rights The Library of … Read More
