Most associate the word faith with religion, because most faith is used in and defined by trusting god.
To me, faith is solely synonymous with trust, period.
Regardless of religion, the more one utilizes faith (trust), the less worry you will have in your life.
Worry is projecting into the future with an added dose of fear. We can not control the future, nor can we control and/or anticipate other people’s behavior. That being said, we must suspend a little faith into every given day that things will run smoothly with our friends reliability, partners loyalty, and business fairness.
And with our own desires, we must have faith that what we want will come to pass. Maybe it doesn’t turn out as precisely, but often it’s better than expected.
The saying goes, when we make plans, God laughs.
Life is not a staircase, we don’t get to see how many steps are to the top.
How many times did Thomas Edison work towards the incandescent lightbulb? 2 yrs, and over 6,000 fibers for the light.
It is said that a reporter came & asked Edison, “How many times are you going to fail at creating the light bulb?” Mr. Edison replied, “Son, I haven’t failed! I’ve simply discovered another way not to invent the light bulb!”
See how he shifted his perspective! He had faith; he knew the end result existed. That’s all any of us have to know. You must trust yourself & transform negative thoughts.
Are your thoughts and actions resonating with the ultimate goal or vision you’ve been holding on to?
I don’t doubt Edison would’ve wanted success in 6 months, not 2 years. Everything has it’s own process, that’s why we can’t waste energy on the ‘how’ or the ‘how long’. Let go & let god is a very familiar saying, it precisely means ‘don’t worry about the how, have faith’.
If you know that what you are doing is what you should be doing and that no matter how many times you get knocked down, you keep working towards the goal, then inevitably it will come to pass.
If you trust that you are taking the right steps, then you shouldn’t be worrying.
Most people worry about money. Objectively consider there is enough to go around. As much as the media likes to beat into the ground how much debt there is, also consider how much ridiculous sums of wealth exist. No 1 person, business, or marketable idea has the monopoly. When we believe this, these are the negative thoughts that keep us from attracting money and opportunities. Our thoughts create our reality. Disengage from this thought and realize how much wealth is in the world. The beliefs have to change if you want the results to. When people say the word ‘broke’ I cringe. More often than not, they are not physically disabled in any way! Hear yourself. Hear the things you believe. Rephrase this thought by saying ‘ I am budgeting.’ This simple shift will help make drastic changes.
"A man is but a product of his thoughts; what he thinks, that he becomes."
We have to shift our beliefs the way Edison did.
Also, when we become stressed and worried so intensely, it physically cuts off brain pathways that could be considering other opportunities or possibilities for a better outcome.
Some people do well under pressure and almost deliberately procrastinate on things because they trust themselves enough the task will be complete in time. (or have consistently seen by past experience how well they perform under extremes) This is one of the reasons our service men are brutally stressed during bootcamp and other drills. The neuro-pathways have to get acclimated to the stress, so in the actual situations of combat they can be more focused on the right moves or opportunities to succeed and stay alive. They can not be focused on the stress or they would get killed more quickly.
The majority of us do not make good decisions or see positive opportunities under stress.
It’s about trusting ourselves that we are making the right decisions and having faith that the end result will turn in our favor..
It may seem counterintuitive, but remember when you’re feeling worried or stressed is the most opportune time to ‘let go and let G*d’; literally trust in the outcome.
