I’m Not In Love With My Life

Social media causes angst. I want so much; and then I find myself looking in every drawer, closet, nook and cranny to eliminate, give away, and strip to bare minimum. I hate stuff. I want to give it all away, minus my wardrobe and my books. The books are my library. They tell me stories. And when you read the titles, they give you insight into where my mind has been and who i am. And as much as i don’t say, they speak for me. My clothes are my presentation to the world. They are my mood and how I’m feeling today. Who do I want to present, who do I want you to think I am? I hate … Read More

News to me: Anne Frank was not the only young chronicler of the Nazi Occupation. Books are harder for me to get rid of than clothes. Even if I think i may wear something again, i hand it off easily. But even knowing I won’t actually read a book again, i still hoard it. I like the eye appeal of my well-stocked book shelves. I’d rather be better read than most fashionable any day.  What do you do with old books? Cookbooks I’m absolutely certain to not use, I donated to a local cooking school or gave away to friends they suited, i.e. David Lebovitz’s chocolate book to a sweet-tooth phene. My most treasured is a 1865 German Bible i … Read More

It is serious business, and 2016 is a big deal. So i figure the only way to get some attention away from that is to mention sex. You guys are so simple. Here we have it: from tech to sex, from innovation to the absurd… How Spritz Redesigned Reading, Letting You Scan 1,000 Words a Minute This could very well put me on top of the world! Interesting new live art medium. Women Read Out Loud Until Orgasm This just sounds (pun) absolutely ridiculous and staged. ‘Cubitt’s idea for the project evolved … Read More

Oh geez, I post one pic of some luxury vehicles, and then presumed to be shallow because I admire quality craftsmanship. Give me a break! Tells you more about the other person’s  issues with money. No, i do not put value in material goods, but i do value quality. Big difference. Designing is not only a creative drive, but as I mentioned in the last post, a necessary component of evolving. Beyond aesthetics, how does this object make my life easier? I always ask ‘is it efficient?’. Art generally falls into the playful, enjoyable arena. Do we need it to do anything for us, other than make us feel good…rhetorical, but no. That’s why it is art. Visual News is … Read More

I didn’t think I was ever going to get a good night’s sleep in this past three week stretch. 4-hour pockets do not suffice. My hang-up was in anxiousness and excitement; not the solemn, worry induced kind of insomnia. Music is on the forefront of my mind and days in the studio lead to nights looping lyrics and planning next steps in my mind. The best kind of exhaustion i could ask for, and i haven’t even gotten to the nightly performances yet! Geez, the cliché ‘it’s all about the journey..’ rings a bit true. Regarding this blog, here’s a bit of insight into my personality: when I feel overwhelmed i just shut down. I’ve tried to highlight a variety … Read More
